The BlancOne treatment itself takes about 10–20 minutes. Your dentist checks your teeth and gums first to make sure whitening is suitable, so the whole appointment takes longer than that. Compared with our in-clinic blue-light whitening, which takes about 2 hours, BlancOne can suit you if you’re short on time.
Will BlancOne make my teeth sensitive?
BlancOne is designed to reduce sensitivity, although some people may still notice brief discomfort. It uses a low-peroxide gel activated by photo-boosters, the process doesn’t raise tooth temperature or expose teeth to extreme pH, and its Vitamin Pool technology helps support the enamel. If your teeth are already sensitive, tell your dentist beforehand. Most people can eat and drink normally straight after the appointment.
How is BlancOne different from standard in-clinic whitening?
The main differences are gel strength and time. Our standard in-clinic whitening uses a 25% peroxide gel with a blue light and takes about 2 hours; BlancOne uses a lower-strength peroxide gel with photo-boosters and takes about 10–20 minutes, with a focus on reducing sensitivity. Neither changes the colour of crowns, veneers or fillings. Results vary from person to person, and your dentist will suggest the option that suits your teeth.
Can teenagers have BlancOne whitening?
BlancOne whitening is generally for adults aged 18 and over. For teenagers, your dentist first checks that all permanent teeth have come through and the enamel has matured, and needs a parent’s consent before considering a lower-strength option; any decay or gum inflammation is usually treated first.
